PASSION: What’s Yours?

pas·sion
ˈpaSHən/
noun
noun: passion; plural noun: passions; noun: Passion; noun:

the Passion 1 1.
strong and barely controllable emotion."a man of impetuous passion”

I’m passionate about passion, and I’ll tell you why. I love passion because it is such a powerful emotion. There is an electrifying energy that comes with passion. It cannot be harnessed, can barely be controlled, is a ‘legal’ high, it takes one ‘out of the box’, it brings into focus infinite possibilities, it is so mesmerizing one can literally go for days without even thinking about eating, drinking, working, etc. When passion takes hold, life has accentuated meaning, one feels as though an entire star system is growing within them, the possibilities are endless, ideas cannot be written down fast enough, nor thorough enough, and that persons heart is very strong, very happy, and there is no such thing as an obstacle.

A LIFE WITHOUT PASSION IS LIKE A SPOT IN YOUR GARDEN THAT NEVER GETS SUNSHINE

We know what happens to a plant without sunshine, it merely exists, until at last, it bends and withers every so slowly to the earth, and eventually dies. Unnoticed, uncared for, of no worth, and worst of all, it never was allowed to reach its full potential and produce something beneficial, whether food, or flower. What a shame. What a waste.

Living a life without passion yields the same results, more or less. That being becomes dull, pegged into a mindset that becomes smaller with every passing day, until that individual feels as though they are stuck, boxed in, closed in, tied as a creature of habit to both their routines, and habits that keep them drawing water from the same well, day after day, until it dries up, and eventually they too, begin to bend (at the knees), and sink (in their heart), and fall flat at the end of each day wondering why life is the way it ‘is’. They too, feel they are not ‘producing’, anything worthwhile in their lives, and laugh at the thought of reaching their full potential. What a shame. What a waste.

Folks, it all lies in passion. I know at first when you read the word passion, you may have conjured up the meaning to relate to feeling passion-ate about another being. We have all been there.... dating, person after person, after person, and then it happens, you meet that one that just seems to have you walking on air each time you’re in their presence, your spirits are lifted, you walk away with a better attitude, and more energy. Yes, this too, is indeed passion, and if this passion is to be sustained at this level, it must be working in both directions. One cannot always be the lifter and the other always leaning, as this grows old for the for lifter, as they too, need to be ‘fed’. Who’s to do the feeding? If not you? Who? Hence, we come to the statistics of 50% of all marriages ending in divorce. Not an impressive outcome, right? A friend of mine told me years ago while in Mexico, “People always think the grass is greener on the other side, and the truth is, if someone on the other side is watering it, it is!” You get the point here, right? Whether it’s grass roots or a human being, neglect it and it either slowly withers and dies, or it will search else where for what it needs to be sustained.

So, yes, relationships can start as passion and quickly fade into nothingness, unless two people are really on the ball, and know what constitutes a good, happy, healthy relationship, for a very, very, very, long time. In other words, this form of passion doesn’t really zero in on passion in all its glory.

WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?

One can be passionate about a number of things. One can also rotate between passions, to give the former a rest, to give the brain a rest, perhaps, the pocketbook a rest, and to bring balance into life where a passion has been very time consuming.

This is all a normal part of passion, and life.

The list goes on, and on, and on, but the question is:

WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?

WHAT DRIVES YOU?

WHEN ARE YOU FEELING LIKE YOU’RE IN THE ZONE?

WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHEN YOU LOSE TRACK OF TIME?

IF YOU COULD DO ANYTHING, AND I MEAN ANYTHING, AND THERE WERE NO PERCEIVED LIMITING FACTORS, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

WHERE WOULD YOU GO? WHY?

Below is a link I like to watch frequently, first off, because I love to dance, second, because each of these dancers are unique (and you seriously have to watch it three times just to watch each person), and lastly, and most importantly... because these dancers are doing what they LOVE, what they are PASSIONATE about, and because of this, they literally radiate that passion to their audience.

Folks, life is just too short to live without passion. Please, this week, I encourage you to think seriously on this, and consider what you are passionate about. Eating donuts and ice cream does NOT count, hahaha!

Once you have found your passion, it is like a magical Light has been turned on, and it infiltrates every corner of your life. It does not have to take over your life, neither does it need to cost a fortune either, well, maybe it does in some cases, but passion is SO powerful, that when one is serious, things just naturally start happening when one puts their faith into motion, by taking daily, calculated action(s). Remember that scale newsletters back? Yes, you must be willing and decide how and in what ways you will make sacrifice to allow it to happen, as nothing is served up on a silver platter in the world of passion.

Now, I’d like to turn attention to an outstanding man that I have had the pleasure of working with throughout the last couple years. I wish I had a before picture of him, but you all know I have been horrible about getting pictures until recently. My loss, as this man is a changed man, a new man, and watching his transformation has been an exhilarating experience, as when one follows everything to the ’T’, miraculous things happen, that person changes on every level of their being, and he has done just that, and continues to move forward, never missing a step. He has taught me much in the process, with his humble demeanor, great attitude, and pleasant personality.

I write this because this man has PASSION. He is a former Army Ranger, and was recently Re-Commissioned, as he is moving into other areas of service within the Army. He is passionate in his service both within and without the Army. When we first met, he had goals for himself, yet was a bit apprehensive, as well, but he plugged along, day by day. Single dad of two great boys, attending school full-time, and attending his Army responsibilities, which also took him out of town for lengths at a time, yet he still managed to prep his meals, and get to the gym... many times twice a day.

You see, he has passion. What many would use as an excuse, or start to give up on either themselves, or their goals, he did not, because of his passion he kept on, keeping on.

Passion does this folks. It’s like there is something that just must be done, taken up, and so forth, there is such a drive behind passion, it is literally unstoppable.

WHAT IS YOUR PASSION?

Have a wonderful week, and enjoy learning about yourself and discovering your

passions.

Health!
