LIFE MANAGEMENT 101

You've heard of time management, well this is Life Management 101.

WHAT IS LIFE MANAGEMENT?

It's learning to take control of the affairs of your life before others do. No Joke. I believe this is a class that's mandatory for everyone. Look at your 'average' day. What do you spend your time doing? Who with? For how long? How about on Facebook? Twitter? Pinterest? Blogging? Waiting in traffic? In lines? Chances are you have a fair idea of these things, but I challenge you to write down how you spend your time for an entire two weeks. Why? Because you'll be surprised at what you find.

Now, please, don't do anything different because you're writing down how you spend your time, etc. You see, if you can't be honest with yourself, well, you're just fooling yourself, and how can you make progress in any area of your life, if you're not willing to at least, be honest with yourself. If we feel the need to 'hide' anything, or change anything for the appearance to others, then it's a red flag screaming for our attention. This isn't anything to dread, but rather an opportunity to tread over it, through it, around it, etc., so personal growth can occur. I shared this with one of my clients who's learning the art of Life Management, and discovering the true freedom that comes with being the managers of our own lives.

"Just like weeding a garden, isn't it. At first sight, we ignore it ... until we realize to get anything worthwhile from the land we must clear it, and no one can do the clearing but us. Next look, it appears overwhelming, but we devise a plan to pick weeds for a couple hours each day. Each day while picking, our minds roam as we pick and pull, dig up and clean-up. Next glance, it's beginning to take form, and our imaginations begin to dance with excitement at all the possibilities. Soon we are happily bouncing to go out and pick the weeds, for we realize they aren't anything to fear, just need to be managed."

So it is with life. Pick out the time consuming things that just aren't 'giving back', and decide what you want to do with them. Next, look at all the people, places, and things that literally are energy drainers... decide what to do with them.

"You see, this is your life. You must take charge of it, as otherwise others will do so for you at
the blink of an eye, as weeds taking over a garden."

"Life. Manage it. Decide who you want to be, and be it. Decide what you want out of life, and get it. Decide how you will give back that which Creator has so freely shared with you, and give it."
